Overpowering me...

Hooked onto me,
'It' refuses to let go.
I try ignorance,
But 'it' only pains me more.

I depend on time,
Hoping 'it' will disappear.
Too much time has passed,
Yet 'it' is with me.

Ignorance is my tactic,
Yet, unavoidable 'it' is.
My mind shuts down the memories,
But 'it' is victorious each day.

In denial I stand,
While 'it' tortures my heart.
I shut my mind,
Yet 'it' refuses to let go.

I am defeated,
For 'it' has worn me down.
'It' leaves me finally,
Only to return the next day.

I am tortured once more,
Till the possibility disappears.
For 'it' knows,
For 'it' knows too much...
